Powering a Society That Never Stops
Drawing on our experience since 1947, we build UPS systems and power equipment for facilities where power must never fail.
Contract Manufacturing of Electrical Equipment
Since its founding in Ota-ku, Tokyo in 1947, Futaba Electric has provided contract manufacturing of electrical equipment, starting with uninterruptible power supplies. With an in-house system that covers everything from product design to procurement and inspection, we quickly manufacture high-quality equipment tailored to our customers' needs.
Our Tokyo Head Office and Factory, located where the company was founded, is mainly responsible for sales, accounting, and materials procurement, as well as circuit design. Our production base, the Tateyama Factory, has all of the main production facilities and functions, including structural design, assembly, inspection, and shipping.
Main Products
Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is a power unit made up of a rectifier, an inverter, and storage batteries that protects against power outages. UPSs are used wherever even a momentary outage is unacceptable, such as dams, computer rooms, medical facilities, and airports, and their applications continue to expand every year. Japan's commercial power supply is stable, and large-scale blackouts and voltage fluctuations are relatively rare. Even so, risks such as high-voltage surges caused by lightning, momentary voltage drops, and noise from switching in power transmission equipment and electronic devices cannot be completely avoided. A UPS protects computer systems from damage and data loss when these various power problems occur.
Input/Output Panels and Distribution Boards
When installing a UPS or a DC power supply, an off-the-shelf product that matches the input and output voltages of the site is not always available. Peripheral panels such as input panels, output panels, transformer panels, and distribution boards are therefore needed to adapt these power supplies to the environment where they are actually used. In addition, many sites that require a UPS cannot interrupt power to the load even during maintenance of the power supply. In such environments, installing input/output panels equipped with relay circuits and maintenance bypass circuits makes it possible to supply commercial power directly to the load even when the UPS is unavailable.
Compact Power Units and IoT Devices
Power is needed even in places without standard outlets, such as construction sites and laboratories. We provide the power supply each environment requires, housed in an enclosure whose size and materials are suited to the installation site. There is also frequent demand for high-quality prototypes on short lead times, such as IoT devices for research and development and environmental sensor boxes. Futaba Electric meets these needs with end-to-end support, from enclosure selection, structural design, and fabrication to circuit design and mounting on general-purpose boards.
Futaba Electric is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems).

Quality Policy (2026-27)We manufacture uninterruptible power supplies as well as input/output panels, distribution panels, DC power supplies, compact power units, and IoT devices. With an in-house system that covers everything from product design and materials procurement to assembly, wiring, and inspection, we quickly manufacture high-quality electrical equipment tailored to our customers' needs.
We are also engaged in research and development of power supply equipment. Under our motto, "Technology Built on Experience, Supporting Society," we strive to deliver the products our customers need quickly, affordably, and with high precision.
To achieve this, we focus on the following three priorities.
[Priorities]
- Priority: Pursuing customer satisfaction in quality and delivery
- Priority: Promoting an optimal production system
- Priority: Building a sustainable corporate structure
[Actions]
- To put this policy into practice, each relevant department sets quality objectives and evaluates progress and achievement.
- We comply with customer requirements, applicable laws and regulations, and all other requirements we are obliged to meet.
- We continually improve our quality management system.
Through these efforts, we aim to achieve ever-higher customer satisfaction and to keep contributing to the development of society.

Our Approach to Data Protection
Cyberattacks are a serious risk that any company, large or small, may face. Ransomware in particular can cause severe damage that may threaten a company's very survival. At Futaba Electric, we use a dedicated NAS for data sharing and keep multiple generations of backups using snapshots. We also maintain two additional layers of backup, between our sites and to the cloud, to fully safeguard against data loss.
